Word on the street: Mona Sultan's debut scarf collection

Back in January I had the pleasure of working with Mona Sultan on her debut scarf collection entitled ‘Word on the Street’. When I saw the collection I instantly fell in love with it’s bold designs and bright colours. They would make any plain white t-shirt really pop! And, if you know me, you would know that I am an avid scarf collector; I’ve actually lost count how many scarves I have in my wardrobe.

The shoot was inspired by street photography and the images have an ‘in the moment’ kind of feel. I also love how Mona plays with the scarves to create new ways to wear them. My favourite being ‘the dress’ where she drapes the scarf along the dress and secures it with a belt to create a new shape altogether. Rachel Nichols (actress from the new show Continuum) was also snapped wearing one of her designs at Vancouver International Airport earlier this year.

Mona is definitely one to watch.

I’m working with Mona again this summer on her new fall/winter scarf line which will be launched in September. Her new creations are extraordinary and you will love how she wants you to wear them. To make way for the new line, her Spring/Summer line (seen below) will be on Sale in August. So, watch this space… Something tells me her designs will go fast!
