I loved this location and getting to know these two! When we first began the session Seonaid and Behrad admitted to being a lot nervous about having their photos taken and confessed that they weren’t exactly looking forward to the shoot. However, you wouldn’t be able to tell by these shots! I love the bright outfits they chose and they look totally relaxed and completely in love. By the end of the session I think they were feeling a lot more comfortable about having their photos taken on their wedding day.
And that’s what engagement sessions are all about!
I love finding new nooks in and around Steveston. I actually didn’t even know that Steveston United Church was hiding just behind one of Steveston’s main streets; Chatham street! Its a lovely little church with beautiful light and a perfect location because Shannon and Jeff wanted their photos at Britannia Shipyards which is just a 2 minute drive away! I had so much fun with this bunch and LOVED photographing the dress at this location.
Congratulations Shannon and Jeff! Your day was absolutely beautiful!
I had so much fun yesterday with these two! We started off with a coffee in Strathcona and then Chris lead us to one of his favourite spots in the city. I love it when couples show me their hidden gems and I was excited to see that it had both natural and industrial beauty.
My favourite!
We finished off our session peacefully in the serene woods of Lynn Valley where Claire grew up. It was lovely to see the places around the city that really excited them.
I loved getting to know you both and can’t wait to see you again very soon!
Once again, I had such a fantastic afternoon with the Eddine’s. (I photographed them earlier this year when they were expecting little Sayer) Madhy and Sayer are such well behaved boys! It was hillarious listening to Madhy laugh, giggle and converse in three different languages! (yes three… wowza!) He is actually very quick witted for a toddler, although it took me awhile to get what he was saying as it first had to be first translated. Thank you so much Moe for the wonderful feast after our session. I have never before had Lebanese food and it was delicious!
Here are a few from today, can’t wait to show you the rest next week at the studio! see you soon…..
Mason was full of life during our session and I loved his energy! We managed to take advantage of the weather and get these photos before the sleet began to fall. Enjoy these for now and I look forward to photographing the new addition.
When Nicky asked me to be a part of the Violet Hill Media Event, I was stoked. I absolutely adore Violet Hill and have been dying to take photographs inside the store as the setting is lovely. Violet Hill has been in Steveston for just over a year and is definitely well-known by all the locals. The purpose of the event was gain further recognition beyond Steveston and to let people know that Violet Hill is a fun and stylish place to shop outside of the city. On the night of the event, the store was full of cameras, bloggers, stilettos, macaroons, champagne and a lively tv crew (I can’t wait to see the segment on West Coast Style!) and as the sun went down, the noise in the shop went up. If you haven’t checked out Violet Hill already, get down to Steveston.
It’s not to be missed!
